Known as the “pioneering company in airflow management solutions” Upsite Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Ken Brill, who in 1993, had established the Uptime Institute, a think tank dedicated to understanding, improving, educating and expanding awareness of uptime and optimal efficiencies in data centers. Upsite Technologies leveraged the experience and knowledge obtained at the Uptime Institute to create its initial energy-efficiency products and services including the first KoldLok® product, the Integral grommet. Upsite continues to successfully engineer, design and manufacture a series of precision sealing solutions from our award-winning, patented family of solutions. Sharing the science and executing it to optimize the data center is what sets Upsite apart in the industry. Upsite Technologies’ products and services empower data center managers to leverage cost savings and /or improve key elements of data center operations. Alan has more than twenty-five years of experience in technology, business, and commercial solution sales. He was Vice President of Sales for the Technology Solutions Group at Staples where he oversaw a nationwide team of B2B sales representatives and was responsible for driving sales to commercial accounts. Prior to its acquisition by Staples, Alan was Vice President of Sales for Corporate Express’s Technology Division, where his accomplishments include scaling the company’s data center business to become a respected and valued supplier to many enterprise customers. He has also worked in technology start-ups and computer hardware & peripheral distribution companies.

Director of Sales, Eastern North America & LATAM

With over 10 years at Upsite, Alex has worked in many areas.  Starting out as Assistant to the President, Alex moved to Customer Service, Operations Manager, Customer Service Manager, and finally Channel Account Manager. Having spent the prior 14 years in Sales and Product Management at the New York City trademark research firm, Corsearch, he has been a consistent advocate for IP protection at Upsite.  Alex has also co-owned Casa de la Cuma B&B and Canyon Road Contemporary Art Gallery, both in Santa Fe, NM.  Alex holds a BS in Marketing and enjoys cinema, hiking, traveling and fine tequila.

Director of Sales, Western North America & EMEA

David has more than twenty years of successful business experience, the majority of which was spent in the data center industry and has a working knowledge of developing and pioneering new sales territories and channel partner management. David came to Upsite from StarLine (Universal Electric), where he was an integral part of their sales team. Prior to StarLine, he held sales positions at MGE, SMC, NER and Mitsubishi. David had previously worked for Upsite in the role of Western Regional Sales Manager during its first expansion phase in the mid-2000’s.

Mark Borowiec

Director of Sales, National Accounts & APAC

Mark focuses on deepening and strengthening relationships with select National Accounts at the HQ level in the USA, and all partners in the APAC Region. Mark is a seasoned industry veteran in supporting the Data Center Infrastructure and brings his many years of experience to support Upsite’s partners.

Kim came to Upsite Technologies with over 19 years of experience with Citigroup where she took on many roles from credit card collections to training. She completed her career with Citigroup as a High Risk Manager in the collections unit. Citigroup utilized her knowledge in their computer programs to transition other sites around the country to new programs. Kim also has experience as a Microsoft Reseller for a short time with clients in Germany. In the last few years, Kim has enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Ronald McDonald House, University of New Mexico Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, and New Mexico Children’s Hospital. Peggy came to Upsite Technologies in 2014 to fill the vital role of Support Specialist after spending 6 years with the Uptime Institute as a Database Administrator. She holds a B.F.A. in Art from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan, where she was born and raised before relocating to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2007. In her spare time, Peggy is an aspiring tech diva, freelance database wrangler, and a devout volunteer procrastinator when she can find the time.

Jake has been Chairman of the Board of Upsite Technologies, Inc.,  since  2003 and a member since 2001. Mr. Eagle served as Chairman of the Board of the Uptime Institute, from 1998 until its acquisition by 451 Group. Mr Eagle has been a licensed psychotherapist in private practice since 1994, specializing in working with entrepreneurs and business executives. He is also the co-founder of The Reology Institute, which has been conducting educational and personal growth retreats around the world since 2002. He was Executive Vice President of Franchise Development at TriMark Publishing, a Delaware based direct-mail franchiser, and has been a former business owner, with a NE consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, and an independent direct mail marketing firm.                                                                                                                                                                     .                                                                                                                                      >

Rick is a Management and Leadership Consultant who spent the last twenty-five years of his career consulting to some of the largest financial institutions and manufacturing enterprises on matters of strategy, organizational design, and leadership development.  During that time he also consulted to Upsite Technologies, the Uptime Institute, and Brill Inc., all organizations founded by Kenneth Brill.  It was via his consulting relationship with the Brill family of companies that Rick was invited onto the Upsite Technologies Board.  Prior to his consulting career, Rick spent seventeen years in the construction business.

The Industry Technical Advisory Group (ITAG) provides high-level guidance and consultation to Upsite Technologies regarding technical issues related to the data center cooling and airflow management industry.

Bruce Taylor, is Executive Vice President, North America, Data Center Dynamics and Chair of the DCD Annual Awards. He is a former long-time executive of the Uptime Institute and 451 Research and was the founder of Uptime Institute Symposium, Bruce is a career-long IT subject-matter expert media professional in a variety of specialty fields, working as a researcher, writer, editor, publisher, conferences provider and principal executive of technical media organizations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            .

Ian has over 30 years of electro-mechanical product development experience, including thermal products for multi-tenant office HVAC controls, automotive environmental controls, aerospace applications and data center airflow management. He serves on the BICSI 002 Data Center Standard subcommittee as a working group leader and editor, and he contributes to the Green Grid Airflow Management Energy Calculator Committee. He recently retired as a corresponding member of ASHRAE TC9.9, and he is a patent holder for airflow performance algorithms. He has published over a dozen technical papers and articles and has delivered nearly 100 conference presentations in eight countries. He recently retired from Chatsworth Products, where he managed development of their first server cabinet and led their data center thermal and airflow management initiatives.                                                                       .

Tom is currently Vice President, Facility Operations – Americas at Thomson Reuters where he is responsible for facilities life cycle and operational sustainability for Americas continent portfolio. Prior to this position, Tom was VP of Facilities in South and Latin America. Tom came to Thomson during the acquisition of West Publishing where he served as Sr. Director of Facility Management after successfully working 12 years in the daily operations of assigned facilities including the world-class facility design/build project for West on its 300-acre campus in Eagan, Minn. It was one of the largest corporate-campus distributed-generation systems in the world at the time. Tom and his wife, Dawn, are long time community volunteers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and have been recognized for their work with United Hospitals and United’s multi-million dollar advanced facilities campaigns.

Vince has over 30 years experience in the hands-on planning, programming, design, construction, and operation of data centers. He has spearheaded the application of High Reliability Organizations parameters into data center operations. As the former CTO for the Uptime Institute, Vince has experience in applying the necessary rigors of data center design, construction, and operation into global solutions. Vince is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Bill Kleyman

Bill is an enthusiastic technologist with experience in datacenter design, management, and deployment. His architecture work includes large virtualization and cloud deployments as well as business network design and implementation. Bill enjoys writing, blogging, and educating colleagues around everything that is technology. During the day, Bill is the CTO at MTM Technologies, where he interacts with enterprise organizations and helps align IT strategies with direct business goals. Bill’s whitepapers, articles, video blogs and podcasts have been published on InformationWeek, NetworkComputing, TechTarget, Wall Street Journal, ZDNet, Slashdot, and many others.
