The Industry Technical Advisory Group (ITAG) provides high-level guidance and consultation to Upsite Technologies regarding technical issues related to the data center cooling and airflow management industry.
Bruce Taylor, is Executive Vice President, North America, Data Center Dynamics and Chair of the DCD Annual Awards. He is a former long-time executive of the Uptime Institute and 451 Research and was the founder of Uptime Institute Symposium, Bruce is a career-long IT subject-matter expert media professional in a variety of specialty fields, working as a researcher, writer, editor, publisher, conferences provider and principal executive of technical media organizations. .
Ian has over 30 years of electro-mechanical product development experience, including thermal products for multi-tenant office HVAC controls, automotive environmental controls, aerospace applications and data center airflow management. He serves on the BICSI 002 Data Center Standard subcommittee as a working group leader and editor, and he contributes to the Green Grid Airflow Management Energy Calculator Committee. He recently retired as a corresponding member of ASHRAE TC9.9, and he is a patent holder for airflow performance algorithms. He has published over a dozen technical papers and articles and has delivered nearly 100 conference presentations in eight countries. He recently retired from Chatsworth Products, where he managed development of their first server cabinet and led their data center thermal and airflow management initiatives. .
Tom is currently Vice President, Facility Operations – Americas at Thomson Reuters where he is responsible for facilities life cycle and operational sustainability for Americas continent portfolio. Prior to this position, Tom was VP of Facilities in South and Latin America. Tom came to Thomson during the acquisition of West Publishing where he served as Sr. Director of Facility Management after successfully working 12 years in the daily operations of assigned facilities including the world-class facility design/build project for West on its 300-acre campus in Eagan, Minn. It was one of the largest corporate-campus distributed-generation systems in the world at the time. Tom and his wife, Dawn, are long time community volunteers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and have been recognized for their work with United Hospitals and United’s multi-million dollar advanced facilities campaigns.
Vince has over 30 years experience in the hands-on planning, programming, design, construction, and operation of data centers. He has spearheaded the application of High Reliability Organizations parameters into data center operations. As the former CTO for the Uptime Institute, Vince has experience in applying the necessary rigors of data center design, construction, and operation into global solutions. Vince is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer.
Bill is an enthusiastic technologist with experience in datacenter design, management, and deployment. His architecture work includes large virtualization and cloud deployments as well as business network design and implementation. Bill enjoys writing, blogging, and educating colleagues around everything that is technology. During the day, Bill is the CTO at MTM Technologies, where he interacts with enterprise organizations and helps align IT strategies with direct business goals. Bill’s whitepapers, articles, video blogs and podcasts have been published on InformationWeek, NetworkComputing, TechTarget, Wall Street Journal, ZDNet, Slashdot, and many others.
