The DCEP program was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy to raise the standards of those involved in energy assessments in data centers and accelerate energy savings. Energy Efficiency Government Technology Act

Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-California) has proposed legislation to guide the energy usage for federal data centers in an effort to foster energy-efficiency best practices. The legislation is currently pending in the U.S. House of Representatives with a companion sponsored by Senator Frisch (R-Idaho) working its way through the Senate.
