EnergyLok Tune

EnergyLok Tune

EnergyLok Tune provides for the engineered implementation of recommended best practices to remediate and optimize the computer room environment. The process provides turnkey solutions that leverage previous analysis (EnergyLok Check) to check, adjust, and implement best practices in order to optimize the various cooling interdependencies within the computer room creating "Cooling Optimization".

Dilemma

While data center and facilities managers are looking for improved efficiencies, both from a system standpoint and operationally, the key is formulating a program which will consider all elements of the site in the development of a comprehensive plan. There are many options available; the challenge is determining which combination will produce the best results given the unique conditions of the site.

Methodology

EnergyLok Tune utilizes the recommendations from EnergyLok Check's environmental analysis for cooling investment, and defines and implements specific solutions to remediate cooling issues and execute best practices to create "Cooling Optimization". The process involves an initial onsite visit by an EnergyLok engineer, a defined work plan developed in conjunction with the data center and facilities manager and engineering team assignments for short cycle time for remediation and optimization.

Results

The EnergyLok Tune through a series of steps within industry accepted processes of remediation and tuning which reduces operating costs, increases capacity, and improves reliability. Expected deliverables:

• Unique remediation plan with engineering assignments

• Airflow rebalancing and custom solutions for sealing accessible, unmanaged openings in raised floors

• Adjustments and relocation of less optimal perforated tile placements

• Calibration of set points and humidity controls on cooling units

• Turning off excess cooling units as appropriate (possible release of constrained capacity)

• Management of room and rack airflow recirculation

• Other general tuning actions relevant to specific computer room conditions

• Post analysis to ensure proper remediation and capture results and further tune the environment to avoid sub-optimization of room conditions
