[VIDEO] Data Center Cooling Insights: What the 4 Delta Ts Are Telling You12 min read

Simply put, the term ‘delta T’ refers to the change in temperature through various locations in the computer room. However, depending on who you ask you’ll likely get a different answer as to where THE delta T is located. If you ask Facilities person, they might talk about the change in temperature through the cooling units, whereas if you ask an IT person, they might talk about the change in temperature through the IT equipment. Both of these are true; they are indeed locations where the temperature changes in the computer room, however, there are two other critical locations where temperature changes take place. These two lesser-known delta Ts are just as important, if not more important than the two more well-known delta Ts, as they give you important insights into how well (or not well) your managing your airflow. In today’s blog, I take a snippet from one of my past webinars to explain the 4 delta Ts of data center cooling, and what insights you can glean by measuring them.
